How many are in your team?

I'm a one man team for the majority of my projects. However, I do work with an awesome bunch of people across a broad range of other projects around the world.

What is your role and what you focus on

Since I usually work on my own, my role includes all of the different aspects of managing projects. For example, designing, developing, releasing and maintaining each and every one of them.

What kind of projects do you deal with, what tech-stack do you use and what is your infrastructure like?

I work on projects of varying sizes. Some small, and some monolithic. I usually do contract work to develop customized software solutions for businesses.

My go to technology for projects is the Laravel stack. This includes technologies such as PHP, Javascript, Nginx and MySQL. I often deploy these projects through GitHub Actions to dedicated servers provisioned for each project.

Some of my larger projects are deployed to On-Premise Kubernetes clusters and these use a multitude of technology stacks.

What are the main benefits SimpleBackups gives you?

SimpleBackups has made my backup and recovery plan a breeze.

I went from using cron scripts on each of my servers, which sometimes failed without me knowing, to an easy to use solution provided by SimpleBackups which automatically backs up my databases at a custom interval to my S3 buckets in a few clicks. It also lets me know if anything went wrong.

An added bonus of using SimpleBackups is that I can see all of my backups and schedules for all production servers in a single place. No need to remember which servers are backed up or not.

As a one man team, managing a multitude of servers, I can completely focus on developing and releasing new features for clients faster as I know SimpleBackups already has me covered in a database disaster situation.
