Restore a snapshot

How to restore a server or volume from a cloud snapshot.

Snapshots are restored through your cloud provider's interface, not through SimpleBackups. Because each provider manages snapshot storage natively, the restore process varies depending on which provider you use.

How to restore

Log in to your cloud provider's dashboard, locate the snapshot you want to restore, and follow their restore workflow. Each provider page in this section includes provider-specific restore instructions where applicable.

!Restoring overwrites existing data

Restoring a snapshot replaces your current server or volume with the snapshot's contents. Make sure you have a recent backup of any data created after the snapshot was taken.
