Storage providers

Connect your preferred cloud storage to SimpleBackups as a backup destination.

SimpleBackups supports over 30 storage providers, from major cloud platforms like AWS S3 and Google Cloud Storage to specialized options like Wasabi, Backblaze B2, and self-hosted solutions like MinIO and NAS volumes. You can also use SimpleStorage, our built-in storage option, if you prefer not to manage your own.

How storage works

When you create a backup, you choose where to store it. SimpleBackups uploads your backup files directly to the storage provider you configure — your data flows from your server to your storage without passing through our infrastructure. Each storage provider has its own setup guide covering credentials, bucket configuration, and any provider-specific options.

Choosing a storage provider

Any S3-compatible provider works well with SimpleBackups. When choosing, consider storage cost per GB, egress fees, data residency requirements, and whether you need features like object locking for immutable backups. You can connect multiple storage providers to the same account and use different ones for different backups.
